avalon hotel design

kelly wearstler is one of my all time favorite designers. when i came across her name in the latest issue of lonny, i was thrilled. kelly hit the design scene with her original design of the hotel back in 1999. ten years later, she has worked her magic again with an all new re-design of the hollywood hotspot.

robin's egg blue, gold, black, and warm parchment white work together to create a happy, definitive color scheme. the indoor/outdoor atmosphere of the hotel really drove the design, creating a unified living + relaxing space. even the outdoor scene works decidedly well with the color palette. leather is a material widely used throughout the design, juxtaposing nicely against the cool glass and metallics.

i find kelly's designs to be ever inspiring, always leaving me completely satisfied and intrigued. find more photos and the entire article at lonny magazine.
